The Grand Teton Eco-Smart Home By DJK Custom Homes
The DJK Eco-Smart Home by DJK Custom Homes is a one of a kind custom home situated on a beautiful two-acre home site in the highly acclaimed town of Naperville, Illinois. Dan Kittilsen and Kevin Kittilsen as well as their team at DJK Homes designed this home to push the limits of home building and prove that sustainable, healthy, and efficient living is possible in a new home that is aesthetically appealing.
The Eco-Smart Home built by DJK Homes is the first of its kind in the Naperville area, as this home is the City of Naperville’s very first residential home to be built to this level and very first LEED Platinum home to be certified in Naperville. The Eco-Smart Home is currently pending LEED Platinum level certification, as well as NAHB Green Emerald level certification. The Eco-Smart Home has received National Wildlife Federation Backyard Wildlife Habitat program certification, EPA Indoor Air Plus certification, and ENERGY STAR 3.0 certification.
Early on in the development of DJK’s highly acclaimed Eco-Smart Home, both Dan Kittilsen and Kevin Kittilsen, Owners of DJK Custom Homes, had projected the home to reach a HERS Score Rating of 18. Following the completion of the Eco-Smart Home the two are proud to announce the home has reached an outstanding HERS Score Rating of 10. HERS Score refers to the energy efficiency rating for homes. The lower the score, the better.
